September 6 Update

The Arise Africa Conference went well; the Lord used Reid and Brett to encourage and equip the pastors and leaders there. They also had some great times of fellowship with other NGA (Next Generation Alliance) evangelists and team members who were also speaking and teaching workshops. We at RSA are so grateful to be part of a network established by the Luis Palau team and dedicated to helping Reid and other evangelists grow in their gifts and reach people for Christ. 

Please pray that the leaders who attended Arise Africa can take what they’ve learned and apply it in their ministries.  Pray that the Lord uses them to build up the body of Christ for the work of evangelism in their communities all over Africa.  Pray for a unified vision for these leaders across the continent to show and share the love of Jesus.   Pray for a covering of safety and health for leaders, their families, and their congregations. 

Today, Reid and Brett had some meetings with the NGA team. Tomorrow, they head back home. Please pray for the Lord to bring them home safely and to provide divine appointments for them to share the love of Jesus with people on their journey. Please also pray that the Lord grants them wisdom as they pray about different invitations they received to bring mission teams to various countries in Arica. Pray that they discern which doors the Lord is opening in His plan for RSA.

Thank you for praying with us as Reid and Brett have ministered in Rwanda and Uganda - you were ministering with them too as you prayed!

September 4 Update

All for Jesus!

Praise God; today went awesome!  The Lord blessed the message for His glory.  Thank you for praying for me.  Brett is doing a great job on the workshops as many African leaders are being trained and equipped.  RSA is getting many invitations to do festivals all over Africa.  Please continue to pray for God's leading for our ministry!  I praise God for you and partnership in the Gospel.

September 3 Update

All for Jesus!

Thank you for your prayers, friends!  The Arise Africa conference in Uganda is going great!  Praise God there are 400 leaders from 12 nations from all over Africa.  Please pray for me as I will be preaching at the plenary session on Thursday at 11:30am Ugandan time.  Pray also for Brett, who is teaching two workshops a day for three days in a row at the conference.

Also pray for God's leading on which invitations to accept to do festivals in Africa in the coming years.  Right now both the Sudan and Congo look like strong leads!

I praise God for you and your partnership in the Gospel! (Acts 1:8).

Thank you for partnering with me to reach Nyagatare, Rwanda for Jesus Christ!  Tonight was the last night of the festival where 8,000 people gathered with many coming to faith in Jesus Christ!  Romans 5:1 says "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."  In a former war-torn country devastated by genocide, God moved in a mighty way during Hope Rwanda festival as hundreds of people found peace with God just like Mugisha.  Mugisha came to the festival searching for purpose in life.  God moved in his heart; and at the festival Mugisha trusted Jesus Christ as His personal Savior and Lord.  Mugisha told me,"Tonight God convicted me of my sins.  I knew that I needed Jesus Christ in my life."

Together, God used us in Rwanda to reach 20,100 people with 1,100 making decisions for Jesus Christ!  To God be the glory (Psalm 115:1)!

Please pray as we travel back to Uganda for the Arise Africa conference where approximately four hundred pastors and leaders from all over east Africa are expected to attend for training and strategic planning for reaching eastern Africa for Christ in the next decade!

It is a joy to serve the Lord with you!

August 30 Update

All for Jesus!

It is so exciting to be in Nyagatare, Rwanda where God is moving in mighty ways!  Already thousands have come to the festival with many giving their lives to Jesus Christ!  Jesus said, "I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest," (John 4:35). The fields are ripe for harvest here in Rwanda.  Yesterday, the pastor who is coordinating the festival said, "This is the first evangelistic festival in the history of our city." 

The district of Nyagatare has over 100,000 people and this is the first festival!  Together, my friends, God is using us to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the precious people of Rwanda.  Not too long ago the people of Rwanda were in great distress as a result of the horrific violence that plagued their country.  But now people are finding peace with God through His Son Jesus Christ! 

Tonight, I spoke at the festival in Nyagatare, where 5,000 people attended and 500 gave their lives to Jesus Christ!  Praise God!  Please pray for me as I proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ again tomorrow.  May God be glorified here in Nyagatare Rwanda...all for Jesus!

August 29 Update

Reid and Brett arrived in Rwanda late this evening.  Their drive from Uganda took longer than expected, so they were not able to attend the festival (another evangelist spoke at the festival last night and tonight).  So far, logistics have been a challenge, and we are praying that these obstacles mean that the Lord has a great harvest of souls in store. 

The other bag that was missing (3 of 3) arrived in the airport in Entebbe, so Reid and Brett will pick it up on Monday when they return to Uganda.  Unfortunately, they won’t have what they need to show “The Passion” at the festival in Rwanda.

Please pray for Reid as he speaks at the festival tomorrow and Sunday.  Pray for a great harvest of souls and for the body of Christ to be encouraged, edified, and ready to follow up on festival decision-makers.

August 28 Update

Reid and Brett arrived safely in Entebbe yesterday, although three of their suitcases did not arrive with them.  Two showed up today, but one is still missing.  That one contains the projector and other electrical/audio equipment with which they were going to show “The Passion” at the festival in Rwanda.  (This film has been a very effective outreach tool at other international RSA festivals.)  Please pray that this suitcase gets to the guys or that God provides other equipment/film/opportunities.

Reid and Brett met up with Pastor Chris (their local ministry coordinator).  They are in Gaba today, which is 10 km outside of Kampala, Uganda.  Gaba is the location of the Arise Africa conference, which Brett and Reid will be speaking at after the festival in Rwanda.  Approximately 350 pastors from Congo, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda will be attending the conference.

Please pray for Reid and Brett to recover quickly from jet lag.  They’ll be driving for most of the day tomorrow, which will also be tiring. 

Please also pray for the Lord to provide opportunities for ministry during the days in Rwanda.  Reid and Brett had hoped to visit some refugee camps, but the high cost of fuel ($7.00/gallon in Uganda and Rwanda) will make it difficult to do much exploratory travel within their budget during this trip.
