Whether behind a microphone on a stage or behind the check stand at a grocery store, Saunders demonstrates a passion to share the love and forgiveness of Christ with men, women, and young people from all walks of life. He sees opportunities all around him to share hope with those who are hurting. Saunders was born and raised in Petaluma, California; and although he had a loving family and enjoyed sports and popularity in school, as a teen he knew something was missing in his life. After hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ at the age of 17, Saunders committed to living his life for God, a decision that would change the course of his future. Saunders shared that shortly after becoming a Christian, “God gave me a passion and burden so intense and a conviction so strong that I knew I would spend the rest of my life reaching people for Jesus Christ all around the world.” The desire to become an evangelist grew as Saunders watched televised Billy Graham crusades. Saunders recorded many of Graham’s messages and watched them again and again, marveling at the power of God’s Word to touch hearts and change lives. "There is nothing I would rather do than tell people about Jesus Christ! There are so many people in our world today who are desperate for good news! My passion is to tell as many people as possible the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 16:15)!" Stepping forward with his dream of reaching the world for Christ, Saunders attended Western Baptist College in Salem, Oregon (now Corban College) to prepare himself for a lifetime of ministry. While there, Saunders received foundational training in God’s word and organized his first three evangelistic crusades. It was at college that Saunders met his wife, Carmen, who was also a student. The next step for Saunders was to Portland, Oregon where he received his Master’s of Divinity from Multnomah Biblical Seminary (MBS). During the course of his studies, he served in an internship at Luis Palau Association, receiving invaluable training and experience as he gleaned from Dr. Palau, who also attended MBS before launching his global ministry. After completing his formal education, Saunders founded his own ministry, Reid Saunders Association, with the advisement of Dr. Tim Robnett of Luis Palau Association. Since that time, he and his team have delivered a message of hope to more than 14 million people through their worldwide ministry, including face-to-face presentations with hundreds of thousands of people in many different countries. Tens of thousands have made decisions to follow Jesus Christ, and RSA medical teams have ministered to several thousands of people in need around the world. When asked why he desires to spend the rest of his life reaching people for Christ, Saunders refers to the Scottish runner Eric Liddell, whose life is portrayed in the film “Chariots of Fire.” In the film Liddell states, “I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.” Saunders says, “For me, when I tell people about Jesus, I feel God’s pleasure.” The one thing Saunders wants most is to reach millions of people for Christ during his lifetime for the glory of God. Reid and his wife Carmen have three children: Azlan, Mylie, and Tobin; and they live in Salem,
